Lost Vistas
‘When I took photos in Syria and was able to get as close as possible to the treasures of Aleppo, Damascus or Palmyra, I went where no one else had gone before and where no one will ever go again
because everything has now been destroyed.' When you take a photograph, it's impossible for you to know whether the subject will remain forever. We live in a world which is extremely fragile and destructible, and I consider it my duty to leave behind a trace of this fragility.
