Unlike any other country she has visited, Winnie Denker plays with colour in her photos of China: the red lacquer of walls, the yellow of tiles and the verdant green of nature all contrast each other. The vast land area, large population and the considerable
imbalance between rich and poor forced her to alter her scale to fit this great country, which is too large to capture in one lifetime.
